Cindy is a South Korean national who grew up near the beach, where she played water sports, and now lives in Singapore. Cindy is an avid user of technology and a sports and fitness enthusiast, including martial arts, yoga, surfing, outrigger canoeing, nutrition, and holistic living. She is a nature lover and a natural learner. Connecting herself with nature gives her energy and centers her ways of being. Her morning yoga and meditation practice keep her responsive and moving through life with an open heart.
Professional and Leadership Experience
For the last 15 years, Cindy has worked mainly in Asia-Pacific (APAC) roles, from a technology start-up to medical and scientific multi-national companies. She has experience in a full spectrum of HR roles, including business partnering, organizational and leadership development consulting, training design and delivery, talent management, group facilitation, and coaching. In all her roles, she often acted as an emergent or situational leader to complete a project scope requiring her to influence others’ work in complex, matrix, and global organizations.
Cindy began her career as a corporate sales trainer. She designed and delivered a training curriculum across numerous projects involving new HR info technology platform implementations, continuous process improvement, and corporate transformation/restructuring initiatives. She developed people leaders programs for technology start-ups to support their staff expansion and development. Cindy also launched a cross-border talent exchange program across 14 countries to promote diversity and inclusion and support business leaders to make effective decisions and bring their authentic selves into their teams and organizations. She currently leads a team that allows her to continue developing herself, supporting others' growth, and facilitating learning in action.
Education and Continuous Learning
As a lifelong learner, Cindy is trained as an educator. She earned a B.A. in Education from the National University of Pusan and Japanese Language and Literature at the University of Osaka in Japan. Cindy took her M.A. in Organizational Development and Leadership from Fielding Graduate University in the U.S. and the Evidence-Based Coaching Program to be certified as a leadership coach. Cindy completed Foundations of Integral Coaching by New Ventures West. Cindy is a certified educator and counselor in South Korea by the Ministry of Education, an Employment Intermediary certified by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, and a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor in the U.S. and India. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and a mentor of the Learning & Development in Asia and the People and Organization Development Community. She is fluent in English and Korean, highly proficient in Japanese, and speaks basic Mandarin Chinese.
